Silphium Design believes in building websites that are accessible to all users to your can deliver your message. All sites are built to be compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and efforts are made to have them comply with WCAG 2.2 AAA where possible. Many other designers/developers see there guidelines as an impediment, but we see them as a way to produce better websites overall.
Can you help me with images and logos?
Yes, Silphium Design has a library of images or help you find images of the natural world. We can also produce custom logos based on images or drawings.
Can you help with open-source software?
Silphium Design uses a lot of open-source solutions and believes that the privacy of you and your clients is of the utmost importance. We can help you determine which software packages are the best for you and can help train you in the use of them. Some of the software that we use here at Silphium includes: Linux Mint, GnuCash, LibreOffice, GIMP, Irfanview, Converseen, WordPress, and many others.
Can you speed up my website?
Silphium Design uses tools such as PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Pingdom to first determine what is causing the slow site speed. We can then optimize site speed by eliminating unneeded plugins, using AVIF images, upgrading PHP, and reducing database loads. We can also work with CDNs to help speed up the site around the world.
